Beach Announces Fracture-stimulation Results in Cooper Basin
Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
According to Oil and Gas International, Beach Energy completed a single-stage fracture stimulation of the targeted Patchawarra at exploration well #1-Encounter. The venture is in South Australia's PEL218 permit area of the Cooper Basin Nappamerri Trough. The well has cleaned up sufficiently to flow through a separator at a rate of more than 500,000 cu. ft. per day - flow is expected to improve as the well is further opened up with the reduction of stimulation fluid. The #1-Encounter initially recovered some of the injected fracture stimulation fluid and is now flowing gas: the flow has been diverted through a separator and is being flared. Adelaide-based Beach is the operator of PEL218 and #1-Encounter with 90% interest in partnership with Adelaide Energy that holds the remaining 10%.
