Tabitha Davis
Principal, Young Women's College Preparatory Academy
Dr. Tabitha Davis has worked in the K-12 context as a high school Teacher, middle and high school Dean of Students, K-8 School Principal, and as a High School Principal in Houston ISD. She was selected as Teacher of the Year at Challenge Early College High School in 2013, as Secondary-level Principal of the Year for the South Area of Houston ISD in 2020, and as Principal of the Month for the HISD High Schools Office in December 2022.
She has also served in an instructional capacity with Houston Community College (HCC) and in the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies Department at the University of Houston (Masters & Doctoral levels). She developed dual-credit partnerships with HCC and the University of Houston Downtown at Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy (YWCPA) while serving as Dean of Students, and she is proud to have returned to YWCPA as Campus Principal. Her favorite part of being an educator is seeing her students learn, grow and thrive.
Prior to her career in Education, Tabitha worked as a Client Representative in the U.S. Marine & Energy division at Marsh USA, Inc. In this role, she managed the insurance and risk management accounts of companies in the oil and gas industry.
Dr. Davis holds two degrees in Business (B.B.A. from Houston Baptist University and M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas) and two degrees in Education (M.Ed. from Lamar University and Ed.D. from the University of Houston).
