A Marcellus Shale discovery was reported in Allegheny County, Pa., by Fort Worth-based Range Resources. The #5H Miller JR 10602 Unit is in Rural Ridge Field and produced 10.344 MMcf of gas daily from a perforated zone at 7,641-20,522 ft. It was drilled in Section 1, New Kensington West 7.5 Quad, Indiana Township. The total depth is 20,579 ft and the true vertical depth is 6,918 ft. Tested on an unreported choke size, the shut-in casing pressure was 1,550 psi.
