A Washington County, Pa. Marcellus Shale discovery was reported by Range Resources in Amity Field. The #6H Whitmer Thomas Unit initially flowed 18.72 MMcf of gas per day. It was drilled in Section 7, Amity 7.5 Quad, Morris Township to 12,762 ft and the true vertical depth is 7,717 ft. Production is from a fractured zone at 8,517-12,693 ft. The shut-in casing pressure was 1,800 psi.
