Talos Energy LLC, based in Houston, has received approval of its plan to appraise its Zama discovery in Mexico's Bay of Campeche Salina Basin from Mexico’s oil and gas regulator, Comision Nacional de Hidrocarburos (CNH). CNH is currently reviewing the application for drilling permits. The first well in 2019 is planned at appraisal well #2-Zama. The appraisal plan includes three new reservoir penetrations. The #2-Zama will be deepened by approximately 500 m to test an exploration prospect Marte, which has an unrisked recoverable resource range between 60 and 150 MMboe. Block 7 consortium partners include operator Talos with 35% participating interest with partners Sierra Oil & Gas, 45% and Premier Oil, 10%.
