Beach Energy began its 2016 drilling campaign with the spudding of exploration well #1-Maroochydore exploration well in Queensland's ATP924 permit area in the eastern Cooper Basin. The venture is targeting Jurassic oil in the Hutton Sandstone and will be between the Inland and Cook oilfields. Beach's 2016 operated drilling program is expected to include up to 16 wells, consisting of a mix of exploration, appraisal, and development drilling. Beach is operator of #1-Maroochydore with 45% interest in partnership with Drillsearch, holding the remaining 55%.
