Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Beach Energy Ltd. reported an oil discovery with the first of a six-well exploration program in South Australia's PEL92 permit area on the western flank of the Cooper-Eromanga Basin. The #1-Rincon North well has been cased for future oil production from McKinlay and Namur Sandstone. According to the Adelaide-based operator, logging and testing at the venture indicates a gross oil column of up to seven meters in McKinlay/Namur. Oil shows within Murta were evaluated by a drillstem test and did not recover any formation fluids, indicating low permeability in Murta at the location. The rig is being moved to begin operations at exploration well #1-Wyomi. The #1-Wyomi has a planned total depth of 1,787 meters and targets the Namur sandstone. Beach is the operator of PEL92 with 75% interest in partnership with Cooper Energy holding the remaining 25%.
