Wireline data from Beach Energy's #1-Encounter exploration well in PEL 218 in the Nappamerri Trough of the Cooper Basin, South Australia, has shown that the prospective Roseneath shale interval is about 200 ft. thick. The #1-Encounter is now being deepened and additional coring is under way in the base of the Epsilon. Good gas shows continue to be recorded throughout the cored and drilled intervals, according to Beach. PEL 218 is operated by Beach with a 90% stake, while Adelaide Energy has 10%.
