Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Beach Energy, based in Adelaide, completed a two-well gas exploration campaign in PEL101 (PRL135) permit area in South Australia's Cooper Basin. At #1-Jute, wireline log interpretation indicated approximately 19 m of net conventional pay, including 14 m in the targeted Patchawarra; 2 m in Toolachee; 1 m in Epsilon and 2 m in Tirrawarra Sandstone. In addition to conventional pay, several zones indicated the potential for unconventional pay within tight sands and thick coals. The #1-Jute discovery has been cased and suspended for further testing and stimulation. Results from #1-Jute confirm the results for a recent completion, #1-Willow. Beach is the operator of PEL101 (PRL135) and #1-Jute and #1-Willow with 80% interest in partnership with Midcontinent Equipment holding the remaining 20%.
