Also in their South Louisiana joint venture, Brigham Resources and Clayton Williams Energy recently encountered about 60 ft. of apparent pay at a well in state waters on Breton Sound Block 52. According to IHS Inc., #1 State Lease 19054 is cased to 8,000 ft. with 7-in. pipe in the southwestern portion of the tract. Approximately 15 ft. of the pay has porosities greater than 20%, while 45 ft. of apparent pay has porosities ranging from 18% to 20%. The company is currently production-testing the well, which is expected to be producing to sales by late October.
