Drilling Activity Summary
Description
According to Buru Energy Ltd., the company found intermittent oil shows and trace fluorescence in individual sandstone beds while drilling its #1-Ungani Far West well in Western Australia's Canning Basin EP391R3 permit area. The well in has been drilled ahead in 8.5-in. hole to 3,478 ft. Oil shows were spotty and along with other indicators, are interpreted to be in the Permian aged Poole and Upper Grant below the base of the Noonkanbah Formation Shales. When Buru hits the planned total depth of 6,890 ft in Ungani Dolomite, wireline logging is planned including wireline pressure testing and sampling. The well is in Production License L21, southwest of Ungani Field. Perth-based Buru is the operator with 50% equity interest, while Diamond Resources (Fitzroy) holds the other 50% equity but is contributing 100% of costs.
