Description
According to Nickle's Petroleum Explorer, a Cardium horizontal completion was reported by Solara Exploration Ltd. The Calgary-based company's well, #15-9-45-5W5, is in the Pembina (Buck Lake) area of Alberta. During testing the company recovered all of the fracturing/load fluid and subsequently produced at a stabilized rate of approximately 1,509 bbl. of oil per day and 568,000 cu. ft. of natural gas per day. The aggregate rate for the producer was 1,604 bbl. of oil equivalent per day of gross field production over a 12-hour period with a flowing pressure of 1,200 kilopascals. Solara controls 40% of the well. Solara has up to five additional Cardium horizontal drilling opportunities on its working-interest lands in the Buck Lake area.
