Description
Castex Energy Inc. is underway at a second test on the company’s Main Pass Block 270/273 project. The #2-B OCS G33690 is being drilled from the existing B platform in Main Pass Block 270. The venture is expected to bottom to the south in Block 273. Water depth in the area is about 200 ft deep. Castex’s Hummer Field consists of Main Pass blocks 270, 273 and 274. The field opener, #1-B (BP) OCS G22812, was drilled in 2015 to 14,342 ft and was brought online in 2017. Through mid-2018, well recovery totaled 3.1 Bcf of gas and 61.714 Mbbl of crude/condensate from a Lower Miocene zone at 14,100-86 ft. Castex is based in Houston.
