Description
A new field Marcellus Shale discovery was reported in Wyoming County, Pa., by Chesapeake Operating Inc. The #8H EDF produced 14.741 MMcf of gas from a fractured zone at 8,448-15,141 ft. The well is in Section 4, Meshoppen 7.5 Quad, Mehoopany Township and was drilled to 15,175 ft, 8,355 ft true vertical. The shut-in casing pressure was 2,400 psi and production is from fractured perforations at 8,448-15,141 ft. Chesapeake’s headquarters are in Oklahoma City.
