Description
Oklahoma City-based Continental Resources Inc. tested two new horizontal producers in the Sho-Vel-Tum Field region in Stephens County, Okla. The #1-17-8XH Oceana is in Section 17-1n-5w and initially flowed 20.7 MMcfe/d (1,066-Btu gas) from a completed interval of approximately 9,200 ft in Woodford. The 30-day average production rate of 16.1 MMcfe/d was constrained by pipeline limitations. The well was projected nearly 2 miles to the north to a depth of 25,331 ft at a bottom-hole in Section 8-1n-5w. The #1-29H Wilkins in Section 29-1n-5w flowed 11.5 MMcf of 1,185-Btu gas with 51 bbl of (presumed) condensate per day during initial tests of a conventional single-section Woodford horizontal well. It was designed with a south-southeasterly wellbore, with proposed depth of 22,341 ft. Additional details are not currently available.
