Cooper Basin Exploratory Hits Gas-saturated Toolachee, Patchawarra Pay Zones
Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
According to Real Energy Ltd., exploration well #1-Tamarama has identified gas-saturated Permian Toolachee and Patchawarra formations. The exploratory is in Cooper Basin Block ATP927P in Queensland. Petrophysical evaluation by the Sydney-based company indicates the well hit 21 m of net sandstone gas pay (44 m gross) in Toolachee and 66 m of net sandstone gas pay (121 m gross) in Patchawarra. The exploratory well was drilled about 51 m downdip from #1-Cocos, a Permian gas well and outside any seismically mapped structural closure. An estimate by AWT International indicated that the gross mean petroleum initially in place for Toolachee and Patchawarra was 10.2 Tcf of gas on the acreage. The rig is being moved to drill #1-Queenscliff.
