Description

Cooper Energy has spudded exploration well #1-Jenners in South Australia's PEL 100 in the Cooper Basin. The vertical well has a planned depth of 2,608 m. The Jenners Prospect is a four-way dip closed anticline defined by the Dundinna 3-D seismic survey that was completed in 2013. The #1-Jenners is targeting Tinchoo, Poolowanna, Birkhead and Hutton Sandstone. A previous exploration well to the north, #1-Fairbridge, was drilled in 2005 had oil shows in Birkhead and Poolowanna but is now interpreted to have been drilled outside of structural closure. The #1-Bagheera East in PEL 514 (northeast of #1-Jenners) also had oil shows at multiple levels. The Jenners Prospect is located 5.2 km northwest of the Keleary Oil Field, which has produced more than 1.6 MMbbl of oil from Poolowanna, with additional oil production from Tinchoo, Birkhead and Hutton.
