Description
Venture Oil & Gas Inc. reported a Cotton Valley oil discovery in Smith County, Miss. The #1 Sims 7-8 was tested flowing 217 bbl of 49-degree-gravity crude, 827 Mcf of gas and 2 bbl of water per day. Production is from perforations at 15,522-15,670 ft. The discovery was directionally drilled to 16,100 ft in Section 7-10n-13w. During testing on a 14/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 1,115 psi. Laurel, Miss.-based Venture Oil & Gas’ well is the lone Cotton Valley producer in this part of Mississippi.
