Laurel, Miss.-based Venture Oil & Gas Inc. announced a Cotton Valley oil discovery in Jones County, Miss. The Glade Crossing Field opener, #1 Holifield 21-16, was tested through perforations at 15,940-16,060 ft and flowed 182 bbl of oil and 1.07 MMcf of gas per day. The well is in Section 21-8n-11w, bottoming to the east in Section 22. Total depth is 16,825 ft, 16,745 ft true vertical.
