Description
In southern Shelby County (RRC Dist. 6), Texas, XTO Energy Inc. of Fort Worth completed an East Texas discovery. The #1 Parker-Hagler tested at 893,000 cu. ft. of gas and 175 bbl. of water per day through acid-treated perforations in Cotton Valley at 12,518-56 ft. On a 28/64-in. choke, the flowing and shut-in casing pressures were gauged at 1,400 psi and 5,200 psi, respectively. Absolute open flow was calculated at 967,000 cu. ft. per day. The well was drilled to a total depth of 12,641 ft. on a 40-acre lease in the Tutt Clement Survey, A-726. Log tops reported to IHS Inc. include Travis Peak at 7,583 ft., Bossier at 11,766 ft. and Haynesville at 12,223 ft. There is no comparable production in the area.
