Description
Shreveport, La.-based O’Benco Inc. has staked a horizontal Cotton Valley test in Cass County (RRC Dist. 6), Texas, which offsets a company-operated well in McLeod North Field. The #1H Gipson-Morris will be on a 229-acre East Texas lease in James Taylor Survey, A-1029. It is expected to bottom about 2.5 miles to the south-southwest in the same survey with a proposed true vertical depth of 10,300 ft. The only horizontal well is the area was drilled in 2014 by Anadarko Petroleum Corp. – the offsetting #1H E.R. Morris, now operated by O’Benco, was tested flowing 70 bbl of 44-degree-gravity crude, 78 Mcf of gas and 2.873 Mbbl of water per day from Cotton Valley at 10,473-14,629 ft. O’Benco’s new location is surrounded by vertical Rodessa wells in Rodessa Northwest Field.
