Encana Corp. of Calgary completed a Cotton Valley gas well in Leon County (RRC Dist. 5), Texas. The #1 Gresham Trust Unit A flowed 9.58 million cu. ft. of gas and 36 bbl. of water per day through fracture-treated Cotton Valley perforations at 16,026-19,060 ft. The directional well was drilled to 19,250 ft. in A.W. Cooke Survey, A-159. Gauged on a 28/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 2,189 psi. Log tops include Pettet at 10,495 ft., Travis Peak at 10,940 ft. and Bossier shale at 14,710 ft.
