Cox Operating LLC has reported results from an initial flow test in the Chandeleur Sound at a Louisiana state waters oil well. The Half Moon Lake Field exploratory test, #2 State Lease 16158, flowed 155 bbl. of 29-degree-gravity crude and 36,000 cu. ft. of gas per day. Production is from Miocene perforations at 6,785-93 ft. Tested on a 12/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 421 psi and shut-in tubing pressure was 1,050 psi. The test was drilled to 7,320 ft. from a site in northeastern Chandeleur Sound Block 72. Cox's headquarters are in Dallas.
