Description
Houston-based Apache Corp. tested a well that has the highest initial production for any oil well completed to date in the Dalhart Basin. The Oldham County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas, well, #1155 Bivins-LIT, is in Section 115, Block 47, H&TC Survey, A-353. The venture flowed 1,420 bbl. of 44-degree-gravity oil, 1.1 million cu. ft. of gas and 73 bbl. of water per day. Tested on a 48/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 272 psi. The 9,710-ft. vertical well was perforated, acidized and fracture-stimulated in two stages at 9,210-20 ft. in Canyon Granite Wash.
