Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Campbell Energy has staked a deeper pool wildcat in White County, Ill. According to IHS Markit, #1 Baptist is scheduled to be drilled in Section 22-5s-9e. The Carmi Field test has a planned depth of 4,400 ft, with an oil objective in Fort Payne. Offsetting Campbell Energy’s new location to the west is a Carmi Field well completed in 1982 at #1 Illinois Baptist Association. It was tested pumping 59 bbl of crude per day from Aux Vases at 3,098-3,104 ft. It was drilled to 3,305 ft. White County’s Carmi field was opened in 1940. The deepest wells in the southeastern Illinois reservoir yield crude from the McClosky Lime. The deepest drilling in the area is a little more than 1 mile northwest of Campbell Energy’s new location—#1 William F. Reinwald in Section 15-5s-9e was drilled in 1977 to 8,000 ft and was abandoned. Campbell’s headquarters are in Carmi, Ill.
