Description
In Washita County, Okla., a Penn Virginia Corp. development test well flowed gas at an initial rate of 11.2 million cu. ft. per day, with 792 bbl. of 64-gravity condensate and 1,152 bbl. of water daily. The Radnor, Pa.-based company's #2-6H McGurk is in Section 6-11n-16w and was tested on a 23/64-in. choke. Production is from Des Moines Granite Wash between 12,429 and 16,950 ft. after fracture stimulation in six stages. The well was drilled to 17,000 ft. and the true vertical depth is 12,184 ft. Meanwhile, at a Penn Virginia-Chesapeake Operating Co. site 5 miles to the southwest, #1-27H Janzen has been tested flowing 15.5 million cu. ft. of gas equivalent per day. The #1-27H Janzen, in which Chesapeake is a 19% working interest holder, is in Section 27-11n-17w and produces from a Des Moines Granite Wash lateral extending to the northwest portion. Additional completion details are not currently available. Penn Virginia plans to have three rigs working on recently acquired nearby acreage by the end of 2010.
