Description
Shell Oil Co. has scheduled a new development test on its Lower Tertiary Perdido project. The test, #2 OCS G3515, will be in the northeastern portion of Alaminos Canyon Block 772h. A successful completion could confirm Shell’s Whale discovery, which is one of the largest Gulf of Mexico discoveries in the past decade. Announced in February 2018, Shell’s #1 (BP) OCS G35153 hit more than 1,400 net ft of oil-bearing pay and it was drilled to 22,988-ft.
