Description
Adelaide, South Australia-based Beach Energy completed a development test at #14-Callawonga, an appraisal and development well in PEL 92 Joint Venture in PPL 220. According to the company, it has been cased and suspended as a future oil producer. The well was drilled to 1,429 m and was targeting McKinlay Member Sandstone. Beach hit a 2.5 m section and 1 m of net oil pay in a clean sand. The well was the first of a five well campaign on the Callawonga oil field. The rig has moved to drill the second well of the campaign at location 18, where the westernmost flank of the field will be tested. Partner Cooper Energy holds a 25% interest in the PEL 92 Joint Venture.
