Description
Beacon Offshore Energy has scheduled a development test in the Gulf of Mexico’s producing Claiborne Field. The #3SS OCS G34909 will be in the northeastern portion of Mississippi Canyon Block 794—it is the first of three new tests planned for the field, according to the development plan. There are two other producing wells on the block, and additional wells will be tied back to the Walter Oil & Gas-owned A platform on Ewing Bank Block 834. Water depth in the area is 1,500 ft. First production from Claiborne Field (Mississippi Canyon Block 794) was reported in 2017 from Miocene at 21,270-21,346 ft and 21,760-21,870 ft. Houston-based Beacon Offshore Energy holds a 23.4% interest in the field.
