Description
EnVen Energy Corp., based in Houston, has spud an exploratory test, #1SS OCS G35655, on the company’s one-block Dothraki prospect on Green Canyon Block 166. Water depth in the area is 2,200 ft. According to the prospect’s exploration plan, a successful subsea completion will be tied back to existing infrastructure in the area. Up to four tests could be drilled on the deepwater tract. Exxon Mobil was active on Block 166 in the 1980s and drilled several tests under lease OCS G07028. The Pliocene exploratory tests were abandoned at depths ranging from 17,400 ft to 17,676 ft. Exxon Mobil also drilled and abandoned several test to the east on Block 167 in the 1980s.
