Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Houston-based ExxonMobil Corp. announced an offshore Cyprus gas discovery at #1-Glaucus. The well is in Block 10. It hit a gas-bearing reservoir of approximately 436 ft and was drilled to 13,780 ft in 6,769 ft of water. Preliminary interpretation of the well data indicates the discovery has an estimated in-place gas resource of 5-8 Tcf. Additional analysis and testing are planned. The #1-Glaucus was the second of a two-well drilling program in Block 10. The first well, #1-Delphyne, did not encounter commercial quantities of hydrocarbons. ExxonMobil is the operator and holds 60% interest in the block, and Qatar Petroleum holds 40% interest.
