ExxonMobil Drilling Offshore Guyana Exploration Well
Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Exxon Mobil has begun drilling #1-Haimara exploration well in offshore Guyana. The wildcat is about 31 km east of #1-Pluma discovery in the southeastern part of the Stabroek Block. The potential exists for at least five FPSOs on the Stabroek Block producing more than 750 M b/d by 2025. Liza Phase 2 is expected to start up by mid-2022. Pending government and regulatory approvals, project sanction is expected this quarter and will use a second FPSO designed to produce up to 220 Mbbl per day. Sanctioning of a third development, Payara, is also expected this year with start up as early as 2023. Houston-based Exxon Mobil is also planning a 4D seismic acquisition in the Turbot area.
