Description
A production test of vertical well #1-Shenandoah by Falcon Oil & Gas was completed in Block EP98 of the Beetaloo Basin in Northern Territory, Australia. According to the Denver-based company, gas was produced from both Velkerri shale intervals that were tested. The Lower Kyalla shale also produced gas to the surface and will now be considered for further exploratory investigation. The Upper Kyalla shale is oil-bearing in #1-Shenandoah but was not tested due to wellbore configuration. Additional testing is required before determining if the intervals could be fracture-stimulated and produce hydrocarbons and to confirm rock, pressure and fluid properties. The well will now be plugged and abandoned.
