Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Faroe Petroleum, based in Aberdeen, U.K., has announced the results of Rungne exploration well #30/6-30 in the Norwegian North Sea. The 3,469-m well hit a 56-m gross (17 m net) gas/condensate column in the interbedded Middle Jurassic Ness sandstones and 86 m of gross water-bearing reservoir in the primary Oseberg target. No hydrocarbon contact was encountered within Ness. According to the company, the preliminary gas and condensate recoverable volume range for the discovery in the Ness Formation is estimated to be 2.7-17 MMboe and is unlikely to be commercial in isolation. Joint-venture partners in the PL 825 license are Faroe Petroleum (40% and operator), Lundin (30%) and Spirit Energy (30%).
