According to IHS Markit, Fieldwood Energy is active at the first of up to six development tests on Green Canyon Block 200, a deepwater tract that last produced in 2009. The #9TA OCS G12209 will be drilled in 2,500 ft of water. According to an exploration plan filed in 2018, Houston-based Fieldwood could drill as many as five more tests on the tract. Shell Oil was the original owner of the Block 200 lease and Fieldwood took over as lease operator in 2018. Block 200 production was established by Shell in 1997. Through 2009, five wells in the southeastern portion of the tract recovered 117 MMbbl of crude/condensate and 245 Bcf of gas from Pliocene perforations at 15,140-17,840 ft.
