BP has scheduled the first test on Mississippi Canyon Block 564, a one-tract Gulf of Mexico prospect near the London-based company’s Na Kika hub facility. The #1 OCS G36253 is in the northwestern portion of the previously undrilled block. The one-tract area is known as BP’s Herschel H-6 prospect. Water depth in the area is approximately 6,600 ft. According to the prospect’s exploration plan, up to three more tests could be drilled on the block. To the north is BP’s adjacent Herschel field, where the company has an ongoing development drilling program.
