Description
Byron Energy is drilling the first of two development tests in the company’s producing South Marsh Island Block 71. The #4-F OCS G34266 has a planned depth of 8,180 ft (7,615 ft true vertical). The same rig has been contracted to drill #5-F OCS G34266. Byron’s drilling in the area is centered around the existing F platform in the northern portion of irregular Block 71. Area water depth is 137 ft. According to IHS Markit, first production from South Marsh Island Block 71 project was reported in March 2018. Byron Energy operates the offshore Louisiana project with a 50% ownership stake. Otto Energy owns the remaining 50% interest in the Block 71 lease.
