Description
In Hilltop Resort Field in western Leon County (RRC Dist. 5), Texas, Gastar Exploration Ltd. of Houston announced a new producer - #1 Gastar-Belin. The well was tested in two Lower Bossier zones and flowed at a combined initial gross sales rate of 41.2 million cu. ft. of gas per day. Flowing casing pressure was approximately 10,300 psi on a 20/64-in.-choke. The directional well was slated to reach a total depth of 20,000 ft. on a 4,273-acre lease in the Jose Maria Viesca Survey, A-30, some two miles northeast of the Robertson County line. Also in Hilltop Resort Field, Gastar is currently drilling a sidetrack to #7 Gastar Lone Oak Ranch in the P. Pereira/J&M Grande Survey, A-17. Gastar operates more than 20 wells in Hilltop Resort Field, and currently plans to spend $24 million on its East Texas program during 2009.
