Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Newfield Exploration Inc. completed two Des Moines granite wash horizontal producers in Wheeler County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas. The #2H Whitney 4 is in Section 49, Block M-1, H&GN Survey, A-385. During initial tests it flowed 14.4 million cu. ft. of gas, 300 bbl. of 56-gravity condensate and 5,000 bbl. of water daily from a lateral at 11,819-16,199 ft. that was acidized and fracture-stimulated in nine stages. According to the Houston-based company the shut-in casing pressure was 1,413 psi and the flowing casing pressure was 731 psi after drilling to 16,380 ft., 11,174 true vertical. The #8H Lunsford 3 is in Section 1, Camp CSL Survey, A-25. This venture had an initial daily flow rate of 4.6 million cu. ft. of gas, 200 bbl. of 55-gravity condensate and 3,000 bbl. of water on completion. Drilled to 15,529 ft., 11,494 ft. true vertical, the Lott Ranch Field venture was tested following acid treatment and a nine-stage fracturing in a northerly lateral at 11,899-16,483 ft. The respective shut-in and flowing casing pressures were 1,263 psi and 533 psi.
