In the Southwest Carboniferous Basin in Poland, San Leon Energy announced initial results from #2-Siciny appraisal well in the Gora Concession. According to the company, the well encountered continuous dry gas shows throughout. In the first zone 151 meters of net oil pay were indentified. In the second zone, which had a 240-meter gross interval, more than 32 meters of net pay were reported. In zones three to five, three potential prospective, highly fractured, organic rich shale intervals had a total gross thickness of 430 meters between 2,065 and 2,610 meters. Some 250 meters of whole core was taken over three of the intervals. London-based San Leon holds 880,000 acres with 100% interest.
