Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
An Arckaringa Basin exploration well, #1-Pata, has detected hydrocarbon shows in Stuart Range. The South Australia venture by Brisbane-based Linc Energy Ltd is in PEL 121. Stuart Range, which was the first of the three formations targeted, was intersected at 1,039 m and has been interpreted to be 143 m thick. This is the first time that Stuart Range has been intersected at this depth in any exploration program in the basin. Well logs and sidewall coring are planned and the rig will continue drilling to 2,345 m through Boorthanna and Pre-Permian formations. Linc Energy has two additional Arckaringa Basin wells planned during the following year.
