Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Two horizontal Atoka granite wash completions were announced by Linn Energy in the Anadarko Basin. The Frye Ranch Field wells are in Wheeler County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas. The #8H Black 50 is in Section 50, Block A-3, H&GN Survey, A-8461. It produced 17.5 million cu. ft. of gas, 401 bbl. of 52-degree-gravity condensate and 6,165 bbl. of water per day. The 18,562-ft. well was drilled northward to a true vertical depth of 13,963 ft. in Atoka B and was acidized and fracture-stimulated in 14 stages between 14,294 ft. and 18,438 ft. Tested on a 128/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 1,190 psi. In Section 50, #12H Black 50 initially flowed 17.1 million cu. ft. of gas, 275 bbl. of 49-degree-gravity condensate and 7,794 bbl. of water per day. Production is from a parallel Atoka B interval at 14,178-18,459 ft. that was fracture-stimulated and acidized in 14 stages. Gauged on a 64/64-in. choke, the shut-in tubing pressure was 70 psi and the flowing tubing pressure was 1,000 psi. The respective measured and true vertical depths are 18,661 ft. and 14,053 ft. Both new producers were drilled from multiwell pads that tapped the younger Des Moines granite washes. Linn's headquarters are in Oklahoma City.
