An exploratory test has been permitted for LLOG Exploration’s Spruance prospect at #1 OCS G35295. The venture will be in the southeastern portion of previously undrilled Ewing Bank Block 877. Water depth in the area is 1,572 ft. According to the prospect’s 2016 exploration plan, a second exploratory test could be drilled on Ewing Bank Block 877. Nearby production is about 4 miles to the southwest at Eni’s Morpeth Field (Ewing Bank Block 921), a Pliocene reservoir that was brought online in 1998. The last production from Morpeth Field was reported in August 2018. LLOG’s headquarters are in Covington, La.
