Description
IHS Markit reported that LLOG Exploration is under way at its deepwater Dome Patrol prospect. According to IHS Markit, #1 (ST) OCS G35827 was kicked off from the original hole at about 11,050 ft and has reached an unreported depth. The venture is in the western half of Mississippi Canyon Block 505. Water depth in the area is approximately 3,200 ft and the rights to Block 505 were acquired by Covington, La.-based LLOG in 2016. One exploratory test was previously drilled on Block 505 under lease OCS G07946 — Shell Oil abandoned the 14,440-ft Pliocene venture in 1986.
