Description

Mack Energy Co. has permitted a Louisiana state waters test on Main Pass Block 21. The Lafayette, La.-based company's #1 State Lease 21379 has a planned depth of 10,200 ft and will be in the western portion of the block. The shallow-water test is targeting Miocene as part of Main Pass Block 21 Field. About two miles east of Mack's planned drillsite are the only two wells in Main Pass Block 21 Field: #1 and #2 State Lease 15536 yield crude through Middle Miocene perforations at 6,520-7,033 ft (#1 State Lease) and 5,816-38 ft (#2 State Lease). Since 1999, combined recovery from both wells is 658.408 Mbbl of crude and 196 MMcf of gas through August 2015.
