Description
A Rome North Field vertical discovery was announced by Ventex Operating Corp. in Covington County, Ala. The #1 Findley 5-7 pumped 138 bbl/d of 37.8-degree-gravity oil from Lower Cotton Valley between 11,527-32 ft. The 12,150 ft well is in Section 5-2n-14e. Offsetting Ventex's new producer to the northeast is #1 Paramount-Wilder 5-8, a 1991 completion that was drilled to 12,381 ft. Through 1998, the well produced more than 114 Mbbl of crude and about 13 Mbbl of water through Haynesville Shale perforations at 11,966-12,012 ft. Ventex is based in Dallas.
