Drilling Activity Summary

Description

LNG Energy of Vancouver announced that #1-S Wytowno in southern Poland had 221 meters of gas shows in Lower Silurian, Ordovician and Cambrian shales and 450 meters of gas shows in the middle and upper Silurian. The Ordovician shale interval in the well is more than 80 meters thick, a substantially thicker section than had been previously seen in earlier wells drilled in basin wide correlation mapping. The #1-S Wytowno was drilled to 3,580 meters and gas shows tested primarily methane with a small percentage of both ethane and propane. According to the company, approximately 200 sidewall cores will be analyzed for porosity, permeability, total organic carbon, rock evaluation pyrolysis, thermal maturity, gas composition, micropaleontology, and mechanical properties.
