An offshore Louisiana test in Main Pass Block 270/273 has been scheduled by Castex Energy Inc. The #2-B OCS G33690 will be drilled from the existing B platform in the southern portion of Main Pass Block 270. Plans call for the well to bottom to the south in Block 273. According to IHS Markit, Main Pass blocks 270, 273 and 274 make up Castex’s Hummer Field and area water depth is about 200 ft. The field opener, #1-B (BP) OCS G22812, was drilled in 2015 to 14,342 ft and bottomed in Block 270. It was brought online in 2017, and through May 2018, well recovery totaled 3.1 Bcf of gas and 61.714 Mbbl of crude/condensate from Lower Miocene at 14,100-86 ft. Castex is based in Houston.
