According to IHS Markit, LLOG Exploration has permitted a new development test in the company’s producing Who Dat Field. The #6 OCS G27277 will be in the southeastern portion of Mississippi Canyon Block 503. Water depth in the area is 3,100 ft. The Who Dat floating production facility on Block 547 is about 3 miles south of LLOG’s new location. Who Dat (Block 546) Field is made up of Blocks 502, 503, 546 and 547. Wells in the reservoir produce oil and gas from Pliocene at about 12,000-16,000 ft, and Miocene at about 16,000-20,000 ft. The Covington, La.-based company has filed several exploration plans in the area, most recently submitting a plan in 2020 for Mississippi Canyon Block 634 (OCS G34904). Two exploratory tests are planned for the undrilled tract.
