Sklar Exploration is drilling a Norphlet oil test as part of the company’s ongoing drilling program in the Florida panhandle. The Santa Rosa County directional well, #1 Pitnic 16-3, is in Section 15-5n-29w w and it will bottom to the northwest in irregular Section 16. The planned depth is 15,631 ft, 15,500 ft true vertical. About 2 miles to the northwest, Sklar is waiting on completion tools at #1 Bates 2-2 in Section 2. It was directionally drilled to an estimated depth of 15,320 ft and the company has set 5 1/2-in. casing to 15,177 ft. Sklar’s nearby #1 Polk Estate 13-5 in Section 13 reopened Mount Carmel field in early 2019. It was drilled to 15,500 ft, the well was tested pumping an unreported amount of crude from an undisclosed Norphlet zone.
